Putting My Experience
My name is Hanan Amer. My passion is serving my community through volunteering, and I want to become more involved, so I'm running for city Council Position #4.
I want to create an environment in our city that is vibrant and inclusive. In doing this there are three things I feel that are important to bring this about.
I want to help individuals and families in our community in need of safe or permanent housing. Homelessness is a national issue, and here in Auburn we have approximately 352 homeless women, men, and children.
I want to help those struggling with opioid addiction, so I feel we need to bring the issue to the forefront. Overdose deaths have continued to rise locally and nationally.
Lastly, I want to support small businesses and work with local business leaders to help support the growth of the new and existing economy.
My biggest goal is to listen and understand the needs of the community and advocate for them. Please check out this site and follow me on social media so you can be a part of this exciting journey of making a more vibrant Auburn.
--- Best Regards, Hanan Amer
